What’s new and what’s Sold in Reading this month.

In this month’s market comment, we present a selection of some of our most recently listed homes for sale in Reading.

Without wishing to be drawn into the current mostly negative media speculation on the property market, although it would be fair to say that you shouldn’t believe all that you read in the press… In this month’s article, we focus on what’s happening with the local Reading property market.

Whilst the local market is certainly not the fast-paced seller’s market of the first half of 2022, there remains plenty of buyer activity and with the less frantic market, there is a greater selection of properties for buyers to choose from.

The more relaxed market conditions allow buyers more time to look around, which is great news for those with a home to sell, as the current conditions give these buyers a chance to find their dream home with time to sell their property without too much concern about being beaten to it by another buyer.

As with the property market, the mortgage market also suffers from rather negative reporting, which does cast doubt in the minds of some.

Truth is, there are more than 5000 mortgage products in the marketplace right now, and whilst news of increasing interest rates is grabbing the headlines, mortgage availability is still incredibly strong.

It’s also true that some mortgage products were withdrawn, and some high street lenders temporarily limited their ranges, but these are now back in the market and will continue to lend.
